Flood mitigation project price tag almost $98M

September 8, 2026

Construction has begun on the Eagle Creek Flood Basin south of the City of Findlay. The project site is bounded by US 68, County Road 45, Township 76 and Township Road 80. Motorists should be on the alert for an increased presence of construction vehicles.

Township Road 77 between Township Road 80 and Township Road 49 will be closed to thru-traffic beginning on September 14. Access to local residences will be maintained. The closure is needed for the installation of a cul-de-sac at the north edge of the flood basin. Construction of the cul-de-sac is expected to take 3 weeks. Township Road 77 will be re-opened on or about October 5 but will remain closed south of the cul-de-sac to Township Road 49.

Township Road 49 will remain open during construction of the Township Road 77 cul-de-sac, but drivers should avoid this roadway, if possible, due to the presence of construction vehicles. Township Road 49 will be permanently closed to traffic on or about October 5.

Questions or concerns should be directed to MWCD Project Manager, Steve Wilson, at 419/424-5050, scwilson@fbfalls.com.
